The U.S. Senate voted Tuesday to confirm Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as secretary of Health and Human Services. The vote, 65 to 31, came just before 6 p.m. in Washington D.C. after an all-day debate. Both Kansas senators, Republicans Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback, voted for Sebelius, a Democrat. Last week, Brownback had said the governor’s veto of a bill aimed at tighetning regulations of late-term abortions made it harder to support her. Sebelius had vetoed similar bills in previous years.

I’m really disappointed that our health and dental insurance won’t cover any more than they do, but what can I do? I imagine that’s pretty much standard. Yes. Rain in the desert! It rained for two minutes and we all got out of the truck and celebrated this perfect day! More later

There was a diverse group of people at the church that included quite a few families with young children in attendance. Fifteen hospital workers have been fired for improperly accessing the medical records of octuplets mother Nadya Suleman, officials have said.Eight other staff at the Bellflower medical centre near Los Angeles were disciplined for looking at the records without permission, the hospital said.
