In Kenya, it's the season for female circumcision, and hundreds of girls have fled to churches with hopes of avoiding the forced practice that is banned in the eastern African nation, the BBC reports. At least 300 girls — some as young as nine — have fled to two rescue centers in rural Nyanza province in southwestern Kenya, police told the BBC.
