Escaping the Mothership in the early 1980s My first memories are drenched in yellow and orange. This is one of the side-effects of being born in 1977, a time when images possessed a slightly nauseating hue. What was going on with film processing during the late 1970s and early 1980s? The photographs and films of the 40s, 50s, and 60s were defined by stark contrast and lucious Technicolor and then, somewhere in the 70s, images began to look overheated. Was it Pan-O-Vision or Color-by-Deluxe?
